D is, according to the designer, an open variant, for example in the style of the earlier Renault Spider - for example for its own racing series. The French do not give any specific information about the price. However, Breun made a promise: 'If Renault builds an electric sports car, it mustn't cost as much as a Tesla.' The Renault Mégane Trophy
made its debut at the Paris Motor Show at the beginning of October. It is constructed on the platform of the Renault Mégane Trophy, over which a tubular space frame and a carbon body are stretched. The weight drops to 900 kilograms despite the heavy batteries. The battery and the 150 hp electric motor, on the other hand, come from the Renault Fluence ZE, which the French want to bring into series production in 2011. This accelerates the Coupé to 100 km /h in around five seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 180 km /h. Renault specifies a range of around 160 kilometers.
