Car2Go, fuel cell, E-Smart and hybrid drive ensure victory
The Öko Globe jury includes representatives from the Automobil-Club Verkehr, DEVK-Versicherung and the Öko Globe Institute of the University of Duisburg-Essen under the direction of Ferdinand Dudenhöffer. The Daimler Group (Mercedes and Smart) presented itself with a total of eight Eco Globes in the past four years as particularly committed to sustainable innovations. Toyota took first place among importers
Ford and Volkswagen were also awarded prizes for their innovations sustainable production and commitment to natural gas vehicles. Ford's electric car strategy also had a positive impact. Toyota secured the top position in the Öko Globe thanks to the expansion of hybrid technology and the consumption optimization of conventional engines at the importers. An Eco Globe each went to Peugeot, Mitsubishi and Nissan for the market launch of an electric car.
