D he Dodge Challenger SRT8 Yellow Jacket is based on the Challenger SRT8 392 and, as the name suggests, comes with a bright yellow painted body. Black racing stripes on the flanks, a black painted radiator grille and the black front spoiler add color accents. The 20-inch aluminum rims in five-spoke design and plenty of logos on the body and in the interior round off the special model.

Dodge Challenger special model with 477 hp

Under the hood, the 6.4 liter Hemi V8 known from the production model provides 477 hp and a maximum torque of 637 Nm for brisk progress. The muscle car should complete the sprint from zero to 60 mph (98 km /h) in under 5 seconds. The engine is optionally coupled to a six-speed manual transmission, which Dodge already installed in the Viper SRT10, or to an optional five-speed automatic transmission that can be operated using paddle shifters on the steering wheel. The automatic models are also equipped with cylinder deactivation, which allows the Dodge Challenger SRT8 to drive in four-cylinder mode.

High-performance brakes from Brembo ensure a decent deceleration. A brake assistant, limited slip differential, electronic stability control and traction control are also on board as standard.

Special model should be reminiscent of muscle cars from the past

The second special model, the Dodge Charger SRT8, is intended as a Super Bee edition to be reminiscent of the muscle cars of the late 1960s and early 1970s. In contrast to the Challenger Yellow Jacket, the Charger Super Bee is not only available in yellow but also with a black finish. The legendary bee graphics can be found on the body or in the interior.

Like the Challenger special model, the Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is powered by the more than 470 hp Hemi-V8 and should achieve performance similar to that of the Coupé. The five-door sedan also shares the wheels, brakes, assistance systems and gearbox selection with the Challenger.

According to Dodge, the two special models should be available to order in December and will be available from US dealers in the first quarter of 2012 roll. However, the exclusive muscle cars will only be available to a limited number of customers. How many copies are offeredDodge is currently keeping a secret.
