D amit cuts the industry performed even worse than in 2014, when the rate was 78%. 1,030 dealers of the 32 best-selling brands in Germany were tested.

But many dealers use text modules and do not deal properly with inquiries from potential buyers. This is all the more astonishing, as a car is the second largest investment made by a private household after buying a property. In the current test, only 45% of the retailers who responded specifically responded to customer inquiries, compared to 62% in 2014. Only 63% of the dealers invited them to the dealership, in 2014 it was 69%.

Lost 17 percentage points and slipped from rank 1 to 10. Volume brands such as VW (20th place) and Ford (16th) are only in the midfield, while Opel is just ahead of the bottom with 27th place and 53% fulfillment rate. The strongest crash, measured in places, is Fiat. When it comes to online service, the Italians lose 23 percentage points and fall from 5 to 27.
