D ie The Executive Board and the General Works Council have jointly decided on a profit sharing of up to 5,400 euros. The success bonus applies to around 130,000 eligible employees in Germany and is paid out with the April salary.
The profit sharing for 2016 is slightly below the bonus of 5,650 euros from the previous year and is the second highest in the company's history. At Daimler, there has been profit sharing for collective bargaining employees since 1997.
The basis for the bonus is a calculation formula that links the consolidated earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) generated by the company and the return on sales. The operating group profit of 12.9 billion euros for 2016 is lower than the operating group profit of 13.2 billion euros for 2015.
