M played a key role in the success of the purist sports car. Racing driver Carroll Shelby, who incorporated a modified Ford V8 engine into the slim body as a power source. The future model, which also relies on a Ford V8, is based on this concept. From a displacement of 4.6 liters, 531 hp and a maximum torque of 569 Newton meters should arise. Enough power in combination with a six-speed manual transmission to cope with the 100 km /h sprint in 3.4 seconds.
The Cobra Venom V8 should reach a target top speed of 344 km /h, including that lightweight aluminum chassis and the carbon fiber garment stretched over it. The proportions are based on the original: long wheelbase, short overhangs at the front and rear and a tightly cut pilot's cockpit, which is covered by a hardtop in the study. At the front there is still an oval cooling opening, which is complemented by an air scoop in the elongated bonnet. The modifications concern the wide flared fenders of the original model, which are now seamlessly integrated into the modern design and filled with 17-inch wheels. The headlights that used to be attached will in future be withdrawn into the body.
Modern technology in the old guise
The safety equipment of the vehicle corresponds to the current technical standard. In addition to ABS and ESP, the new Cobra will be equipped with side and front airbags. In addition, the LED headlights and taillights ensure that the spotlight is adequately lit. A navigation system in combination with a surround sound system sets the tone in the interior.
A manufacturer is still being sought for the implementation of the Cobra Venom V8 Concept, otherwise the comeback will be a purely virtual one.
