D er 49-year-old Krüger has been with the company since 1992 and was appointed to the board at the end of 2008. Until June 30, 2012, he was in charge of human resources and social affairs, after which he was responsible for the Mini, Motorcycle, Rolls-Royce and Aftersales BMW Group on the board. The graduate mechanical engineer has been in charge of the production department since April 1st, 2013.

Fröhlich follows Diess

The incumbent chairman of the supervisory board, Joachim Milberg, will resign from his position as a member of the supervisory board prematurely at the end of the 2015 Annual General Meeting; he will then take on a leading role in the BMW Group's global social commitment and foundation system.

New board member for the department With immediate effect, development is Klaus Fröhlich. The 54-year-old has been with the company since 1987 and has held various management positions ever since. Most recently, Fröhlich was responsible for the small and medium-sized model series. Fröhlich succeeds Herbert Diess, who will be hired as brand boss at VW from October 2015.
