Rental cars from Daimler and Europcar
20.12.2010
D aimler and Europcar want to get into the car sharing project and see it as a lucrative future business. The companies plan to announce precise details of the cooperation at the end of January.
Daimler had already entered the car sharing business in 2008 with 'Car2Go'. So far, customers in Ulm and Austin in the US state of Texas have been able to rent one of 200 small smart cars each.
The 'Car2Go' concept requires customers to register for a one-time fee before using them for the first time . Then you can spontaneously rent the car again and again and use it for as long as you like without making a prior commitment. The cars are then parked again in a public parking lot, billing takes place in minutes.
