D he BYD Tang Hybrid is based on the BS7 and was a study already seen at the Beijing Auto Show. The series version is now starting in China. The name Tang refers to the time of the glorious Tang dynasty, the drive technology of the new BYD SUV is future-oriented. A two-liter turbo gasoline engine with four cylinders and two electric motors work together in the BYD Tang.
BYD Tang Hybrid SUV should consume less than 2 liters
The combustion engine contributes 205 hp and 320 Nm to the total output . The electric motors on the axles provide 110 kW and 200 Nm respectively. The Chinese cite 505 hp and 720 Nm torque as system performance. All four wheels are driven. The choice of the correct translation is up to a six-speed automatic. The BYD Tang sprints from zero to 100 km /h in 4.9 seconds. The average consumption should be less than two liters.
The equipment is much more luxurious. The BYD Tang comes with leather upholstery and fine wood, lots of electrical helpers as well as a rear air conditioning and an infotainment system. The current models from Hyundai and Kia were obviously the inspiration for the design - the lines are correspondingly pleasing and dynamic.
The order books for the BYD Tang will now open in January. The China SUV is available on its home market at prices from around 42,000 euros.
