D he new Buick LaCrosse is based on the new GM P2xx platform, which will also carry the upcoming Chevrolet Impala. The new technology kit helps the large sedan to save around 140 kg in weight compared to its predecessor. And with a length of just over 5 meters, a width of 1.86 meters and a height of 1.46 meters, the LaCrosse is really big. With a wheelbase of 2.90 meters, it offers space for 5 passengers and 402 liters of luggage (US standard). The longer wheelbase and the more elongated shape make the LaCrosse appear more dynamic. The new character lines in the flanks also contribute to this. The rear fenders are slightly flared, the trunk lid has been given an integrated spoiler lip. The Buick's face has a chrome-framed grill with active air flaps and newly designed headlights. Chrome applications on the body also provide a luxurious touch. The wheels come in 18 and 20 inch formats.

Buick LaCrosse only with 309 hp V6

The only drive for the Buick LaCrosse is a 3.6 liter V6 gasoline direct injection with variable valve control and selective cylinder deactivation with 309 hp and 363 Nm torque, which works together with an eight-speed automatic. The basic version works as a front-wheel drive, optionally the LaCrosse can also be ordered with all-wheel drive.

When it comes to assistance systems, the LaCrosse is well equipped: emergency braking system with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, parking assistant, adaptive cruise control, collision warning system and a reversing camera support the driver.

The Buick LaCrosse underlines its claim to luxury with electrically adjustable, ventilated leather seats, two-zone air conditioning, a Bose sound system, an infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration, a head up display, an inductive charging station for mobile devices and a freely configurable display in the cockpit.

The new Buick LaCrosse will go on sale in summer 2016. Prices have not yet been announced.
