K äufer is a consortium made up of Zhengzhou Coal Mining Machinery (ZMJ) and China Renaissance Capital Investment (CRCI). A corresponding purchase agreement was signed on May 2nd, 2017. Bosch did not provide any information on the purchase price. According to the 'Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung', the deal could flush half a billion euros into Bosch's coffers. The deal still has to be approved by the antitrust authorities and the employees at the German locations.
ZMJ is already active in the automotive supplier sector through various affiliated companies. Bosch announced that ZMJ is a major Chinese automotive supplier for starters and generators and as a manufacturer of engine components for commercial and passenger vehicles included finding a partner or buyer.
