BMW M4 Cabrio Edition 30 Years: Limited to 300 pieces

W Of course, we know that the M4 is only the coupé - and convertible version of the M3 and the first convertible with motorsport genes can therefore be dated to 1988. Nevertheless, it reads weird when a 30-year-old edition of the M4 rolls to a selected customer. But well, let's concentrate on the tangible values. Like the normal production version, the 30-year-old M4 develops 450 hp. The M Competition Package, the M sports exhaust system, the adaptive M suspension and the active M differential are installed. Mmmmhh ... anything else? Yes: For an extra pinch of exclusivity, there are special design and equipment features for the special model.

For example, the two available paint finishes. For one, there would be Macao blue metallic - a color that is supposed to be reminiscent of the debut of the open-top sports car. And then there is Mandarin II Uni as a reminiscence of the second M3 convertible generation that was in Dakar Yellow. The colors are contrasted as standard with the Shadow Line elements from the BMW Individual program for kidney grille, gills and model lettering. The contrasting color in the interior is related to the selected paintwork. With the Mandarin II Uni there are yellow contrasting seams in the cockpit.

The color selection of the outer dress also runs through the inside by the full leather interior Merino the matching accent is sewn on. The decorative strips, however, are always delivered in the carbon version. If these identifying features are not yet obvious enough for the edition model, you can look forward to the corresponding 'Edition 30 Years' lettering on the dashboard on the passenger side, the door sills and the headrests. In addition to the logo on the dashboard, the indication “1/300” is also noted as an indication of the limitation.

The engine, on the other hand, has nothing to do with limitation. This is the well-known in-line six-cylinder with twin-power turbo. It is shifted by a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. The 30 Years Edition of the M4 Convertible will be available from March 2018, the price is not yet known. For the 30-year-old special model of the M3, the cost was around 10,000 euros more than a production model with a competition package.
