215 HP power, 120 Nm torque and only 171 kg ready to drive - the BMW HP4 Race now presented in China is very close with these key data on the factory superbikes and also within striking distance of the MotoGP racers. Already on the E ICMA 2016 BMW presented a first prototype.

To get to this level, BMW only used the finest ingredients in the HP4 Race. The main frame is made of carbon fiber laminate and weighs only 7.8 kg. The 1,000cc four-cylinder comes with absolute racing specifications and is allowed up to 14,500 rpm. turn and was combined with a six-speed “close ratio” racing transmission with optimized gear ratios. Racing demands also for suspension elements and brakes: Both the upside-down fork type FGR 300 and the suspension strut type TTX 36 GP come from Öhlins and are identical in construction in the Superbike World Championship and MotoGP. The light metal beam swing arm made of milled and sheet metal parts is also a specimen of the type used in the Superbike World Championship.
Only 750 will be built
With the two Brembo monobloc brake calipers of type GP4 PR are also available for the 320 brake system of the new HP4 Race components, as they are otherwise only used in world championships.
There is also weight-optimized electronics, a 2D Dashboard including data logger as well as dynamic traction control, wheelie control, engine brake EBR, wheelie control and other electronic features. All systems can be configured in many ways.

The appearance of the BMW HP4 Race is rounded off with a carbon panel, an airbox Cover and a seat hump, which are painted in the BMW HP Motorsport colors. A hand-brushed aluminum tank sealed with a clear coat underlines the racing look.
The BMW HP4 Race is to be built in an edition of 750 copies - all by hand. A street legal is not possible. The price is 80,000 euros.
