The BMW 5 Series in its long version on the Auto China 2010 in Beijing . The stretched 5 er also in China at the Shenyang location.
14cm more wheelbase
Because people in China like to be driven and do not reach into the valance themselves, the rear has a special meaning. In order to satisfy the highest demands for comfort here, BMW has stretched the wheelbase of the 5 Series Sedan by 14 centimeters. The space gained by the now 5.04-meter-long sedan is completely allocated to the rear passengers.
They are enthroned on a new comfort bench with the outer seats designed as individual seats. These seats are lined with cup holders, illuminated makeup mirrors, special reading lights and a control unit for the audio system. As an option, the backbenchers can be pampered by an entertainment system, four-zone air conditioning with a separate control unit in the rear, ambient lighting, seat ventilation, a fold-out table and a cool box in the rear center console. On request, electric roller blinds can darken the side and rear windows.
Only six cylinders on offer
The equipment options for the long BMW 5 Series include a head-up display, a night view assistant with person recognition, a parking assistant and aLane departure warning.
The new BMW 5 Series is manufactured in the Shenyang plant in the Chinese province of Liaoning, which BMW has been operating in a joint venture with Brilliance China Automotive Holding since 2003.
