A little more evolution is evident in the interior. The carbon seat shells are covered with white leather and equipped with six-point belts. A roll-over structure made of carbon protects the pilots, and a fire extinguishing system is on board for emergencies. Light elements that show the course of the race track and the respective braking points have been incorporated into a wooden clip that runs across the dashboard. An e-boost display sits in the center. A lap timer display on the steering wheel provides additional route information and lap times.

In order to better network the driver with the racing car, the driver wears a special helmet and data glasses that show all the relevant values ​​for the vehicle and the route moves into the pilot's field of vision. So that the data transfer can also be visualized, the driver's suit was equipped with light guides that make the information impulses emanating from the vehicle visible.

BMW in the USA

1975 was the year in which BMW founded the first official sales company outside Europe in North America. At the same time, BMW Motorsport decided to compete in American racing (IMSA series) for the first time with a specially built BMW 3.0 CSL. Only a few weeks later, BMW achieved its first historic triumph in the 12h race in Sebring. This was followed by numerous successes, including in Laguna Seca. In this first year of participation, the BMW 3.0 CSL won the brand classification. Their successes paired with the eye-catching design and the concise inscription 'Bavarian Motor Works' on the sun protection foils on the front and rear windows made the BMW brand well known in motorsport-loving North America.
