A he luxury car manufacturer Bentley also has to think about alternative drives and is doing so 'very British' with a luxury convertible. The Bentley EXP 12 Speed 6e concept vehicle, which is celebrating its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, transfers the brand's typical luxury attitude to an electric model. The reactions to the electric convertible should then also influence Bentley's future strategy. From 2018 the Bentayga will come as a plug-in hybrid and later perhaps a purely electric model.
Bentley is following conventional paths in terms of design. The Geneva study is essentially the open version of the Speed 6, which already anticipated the next Continental. Similarly, the open Speed 6 will become the next Bentley Continental convertible.
At least 500 km range
Bentley has not yet given any precise details about the electric drive. The direction in which we are heading is clear: even with a purely electrically powered Bentley, there will be no compromises in terms of the quality, elegance and high performance expected from the brand. Of course, an E-Bentley will also offer a decent range (500 km), because after all they offer Gran Touring touring cars. In addition, of course, powerful technologies such as an inductive fast charging system and state-of-the-art onboard services are added.
New interior design
However, the EXP 12 Speed 6e study also shows the direction of future interior design . For example, the entire center tunnel is made from a solid piece of glass with a high-resolution OLED display. All of the vehicle's important controls - including the navigation system, on-board entertainment and climate control - can be controlled from there.
The media, communication, navigation and vehicle are controlled in glass inserts on the open-top steering wheel -Setup to find. There are also two buttons: One provides a power boost, the other can be used to adjust the speed.
The front passenger is master of his own control unit on the dashboard, which he uses to access social media, E - Has emails and entertainment. Copper decorative elements should indicate the electric drive.
