D he Pikes Peak is the after Mount Futschi in Japan most visited mountain in the world. So it's no wonder that the most famous hill climb has been taking place there for decades: the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. With its 608 hp Bentayga, Bentley made SUV history at the 96th edition of the race: the clock stopped at the finish line in 10: 49.9 minutes - a record for SUV!

97 km /h on average are compulsory

In order for the noble Briton to manage the 20 kilometers, 156 bends and the 1,439 vertical meters ascent in at least 97 kilometers per hour, he had to lose weight. More precisely, 300 kilograms of interior fittings were removed from him for the event. The slimmed-down vehicle now has a roll cage, a fire extinguishing system and a racing seat as well as new tires. The Bentley Bentayga, painted in Radium Satin, also features a carbon fiber front splitter, diffuser, side skirts and an aerodynamic rear spoiler.

Over 600 hp and almost 1,000 Nm should be enough

The pilot Rhys Millen revealed before the race: “The course is one that you can only attack with a car that gains and loses speed very quickly because it's so tight and winding. The combination of 608 HP, 900 Nm and carbon-ceramic brakes means that the Bentayga can accelerate and brake incredibly hard - and I will count on that for my run. 'Immediately afterwards he cheered:' What an incredible machine! I had a great run! ”
