E was actually the club racing series that started in 2005 held a championship run at the AvD-Oldtimer-Grand-Prix, also firmly planned for the upcoming edition. After the late checkered flag for the MINI Challenge, a place is now available in the program of the traditional event at the Nürburgring. Many classic car fans will hope that it will be filled with a race for historic racing cars.

Who slips into the void? Please make suggestions!

Some series coordinators and drivers of historic racing cars have already knocked on the organizing community: For example, the Briton Graham White from the Historic Sports Car Club (HSCC) would like to take part in the historic Formula 2 Bring series to the Nürburgring. A race for historic Formula 3 cars would also be a good option. With the approval of these cars at the Grand Prix Historique in Monaco in 2010, this scene experienced a significant upswing.

In 2012 only the two-liter Formula 3 (1974 to 1986) will be approved. Another possibility would be to repeat a demonstration of racing cars from the Edwardian era (1901 to 1919), which a few years ago caused a lot of excitement at the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix. Or is there a possibility that the spectacular CanAm cars will return to the OGP?

But maybe you have a suggestion as to which series or category would be the best addition to the AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix program? Then just write to me: djohae@motorpresse.de
