Autonomous driving: new signs only for cars

“Automated and networked vehicles steer the roadway with high precision. To do this, they need to know exactly where they are at all times. The special landmark signs on the digital test field Autobahn are an important fixed point. Together with state-of-the-art sensors and a digital map accurate to the centimeter, the new signs are another building block on the way to the first fully digitized and fully networked road, ”explains Federal Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt.
