E in top model of a German brand that is based on the home market is not available? Times are changing. Audi is now taking this path for the first time with the new Audi SQ5 TFSI, which is celebrating its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. North and South America, China, Russia, Ukraine, South Africa, South Korea and Singapore will get it. This is primarily due to the fact that there is hardly a region in the world where sporty cars can be sold with a diesel engine, while diesel engines have long been one of the preferred operating means of high-speed and frequent drivers on the Autobahn. That's why the SQ5 TDI remains the option with us if you want to drive the fastest Audi SUV.

The Audi SQ5 TFSI is similar to the diesel model

Like the SQ5 TDI, it also carries new Audi SQ5 TFSI the S insignia. To be precise, it only differs optically from its diesel brother in the lettering on the tailgate. Even the V6-T logos on the side of the gasoline engine like the diesel, although technically not entirely correct: because in contrast to the turbocharger of the Audi SQ5 TDI, the SQ5 TFSI puts a double-rotor compressor under pressure, which is driven mechanically. With a compression of up to 0.8 bar and supported by two charge air coolers, the compressor presses the breathing air into the three-liter V6.

In addition to the cross-ribbed, platinum-gray radiator grille, the SQ5 look also includes the special front and rear aprons and the roof spoiler. Brake callipers with the SQ5 logo shine under the standard 20-inch wheels, and the chassis is lowered by 30 millimeters compared to the series. The 'drive select' dynamic handling control can also be installed for an additional charge.

Audi SQ5 TFSI - to 100 km /h in 5.3 seconds

Inside there is a leather /Alcantara landscape with gray-colored instruments and inlays optionally in aluminum, carbon fiber or wood. The supercharged engine develops 354 hp and delivers 470 Newton meters of torque. According to the European measurement standard, it should only consume 8.5 liters, which would correspond to the standard consumption of the standard TFSI six-cylinder engine. The top speed is limited to 250 km /h, which is more of an academic value for the target markets. The traffic light status is more important there - the Audi SQ5 TFSI catapults itself from standstill to 100 km /h in 5.3 seconds.

Therefore, German customers don't have to worry that the new Audi SQ5 TFSI is being withheld from them : his diesel buddy can do itStandard sprint 0.2 seconds faster.
