Audi Audi S4 gets a facelift

A udi refreshes the A4 series again, so that the Ingolstadt-based doesn't look old against the competition for the rest of its life cycle until 2014. In the course of the facelift, which of course also applies to the Audi S4 sports version, the mid-range model will receive newly shaped headlights, newly modeled bumpers, modified air intakes and new paint colors. The interior is upgraded with new applications and new upholstery fabrics.
New Audi S4 sprints faster
Anyone who hopes that the Audi S4 will also be brought up to date in terms of its engine will be disappointed. While the S models of the other series are powered by variations of the new biturbo V8 engine, Audi continues to rely on the three-liter TFSI with supercharging in the S4. The V6 petrol engine continues to develop 333 hp and has a maximum torque of 440 Nm.
Nevertheless, the new Audi S4 should be able to spurt from zero to 100 km /h faster. Here Audi specifies 5.0 versus 5.1 seconds. The top speed is still electronically limited to 250 km /h. A sports chassis and wide tires on 18-inch alloy wheels continue to ensure road contact. Furthermore, the six-cylinder can be combined with a manual six-speed gearbox or an automatic.
In terms of prices, the new A4 generation should be slightly above its predecessor. So the Audi S4 should also cost slightly more than the 52,100 euros that the S4 sedan currently costs. (Avant: 53,750 euros).
