A udi has to call back one million Q5s worldwide. In vehicles with a panoramic sliding roof, the pressure accumulator of the head airbag can corrode due to the non-functioning drainage of the sliding roof. In the workshop, the sunroof is first checked and, if necessary, exposed. In order to avoid water accumulation, the cartridge of the head airbag is freed from insulating material. If necessary, corrosion protection is applied to the cartridge or the entire module is replaced.
Callback for a million Q5
If the cartridge is damaged, there is a risk of uncontrolled self-triggering, with metal parts in the interior can be thrown. This recall has nothing to do with the Takata airbag issue. Rather, water can reach the airbag modules via the optional glass roof and lead to corrosion. Corresponding false alarms are known from China and Israel.e holders from 56,000 Q5 onwards. 270,000 cars are affected in North America and 570,000 in China. All over Europe, 120,000 vehicles have to be checked in the workshops.

The coolant pump can block
The electric coolant pumps on around 343,000 Audi models with two-liter turbo gasoline engines must be checked. The pumps can block and in the worst case lead to a vehicle fire. Affected are A5 and Q5 models from model years 2013 to 2017, A4 and Allroad models from model years 2013 to 2016 and A6 models from model years 2012 to 2015. New software is to be installed on the affected models that if the pump is blocked, the electrical supply is interrupted. The driver is then warned by a warning light.
