New Audi A4 Allroad Quattro with lavish paneling

D en customers expect little new. The styling is based on the A4 Avant, but there are heartier aprons at the front and rear, new side skirts and trim on the wheel arch edges. They can be ordered either in matt gray or in the body color. The A4 also comes with an underride guard and a rear diffuser in silver. The 'Quattro' lettering in the radiator grille, which comes along with vertical chrome slats, is another recognizable feature. In addition, 'Allroad' badges adorn the front fender and the tailgate.

Audi A4 Allroad with 3.0-liter V6 top engine

On the drive side, the new Audi A4 Allroad has 6 engines. On the gasoline side, there is the 2.0 TFSI with 252 hp and a maximum torque of 370 Nm. It enables the sprint from 0 to 100 km /h in 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 246 km /h. On the diesel side, there is the 2.0-liter TDI in two output levels with 163 hp (400 Nm) and 190 hp (also 400 Nm). Both engines consume 4.9 liters of diesel per 100 km and reach 220 km /h - the 190 PS version takes 7.8 seconds for the sprint.

The lower end of the engine is marked by the 2.0-liter TDI with 150 PS and 320 Nm, while the 3.0-liter V6 forms the top. It is also available in two performance levels. With 218 hp (from 49,750 euros with 7-speed S-Tronic) and 400 Nm and the top version with 272 hp (from 54,400 euros with eight-speed Tiptronic) and a maximum torque of 600 Nm. The three-liter enables a regulated 250 km /h, consumes 5.3 liters per 100 km and sprints to 100 km /h in 5.5 seconds.

The new A4 Allroad comes with 34 mm more ground clearance.

More ground clearance for the A4 Allroad

But the new Audi A4 Allroad wouldn't be an Allroad if Audi didn't give the all-wheel drive rustic station wagon even more ground clearance. Compared to the A4 Avant, the all-wheel drive has 24 millimeters more ground clearance, in conjunction with larger wheels even 34 mm. As an alternative to the standard chassis, the A4 Allroad Quattro is also available on request for the first time on a chassis with damper control.

The Drive Select dynamic handling system in the A4 Allroad offers an extended scope - the 'Offroad' mode corrects engine and transmission control, steering, the optional adaptive chassis and all driver and assistance systems are geared towards use in light terrain.

The cockpit is already familiar from the Audi A4 Avant.

In the interior, the station wagon traditionally offers a lot of space in the Rear - 505 liters are allowed to stow here, with the rear seat backrest folded down and load up to the roof it is even 1,510 liters. The load compartment cover and tailgate are electric as standard - sensor control is just as optional as the trailer coupling that can be swiveled at the push of a button. For the passengers, not much has changed compared to the Audi A4. MMI operating concept and the digital cockpit as well as the assistance and safety systems available in A4 are also used here.
