With the premiere, the British classic A ston Martin DB9 for the second Time new. A real new generation of models can only be expected in two years. Still, the new old one is worth more than a look. The Aston Martin DB9 now bears the more determined facial features of the Virage, the sporty version of the V12 line.

The new Aston Martin runs to 100 km /h in 4.6 seconds

However, its six-liter V12 surpasses it with 517 instead of 497 hp - and thus offers the performance of the DBS set. A six-speed automatic transmission delivers up to 620 Nm of torque to the drive shafts of the rear wheels. This should mean that the new Aston Martin DB9 Can accelerate from zero to 100 km /h in 4.6 seconds if necessary. The top speed should be 295 km /h.

Overall, the new Aston Martin DB9 more sports than touring cars. Accordingly, it now has ceramic-carbon composite brake discs in the format 398 at the front and 360 at the rear. That should bring braking power and save weight. Aston Martin speaks of 12.5 kilograms.

Aston Martin DB9 with a sportier orientation

More pounds of the 1,785 Optional carbon fiber kevlar seat shells can save kilograms of empty weight. The rear seats can also be completely removed in the Coupé on request. If you want to slim down the new Aston Martin DB9 at least marginally, choose the exterior and interior package - the former with front apron and rear diffuser made of carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic, the latter with panels and shift paddles made of similar material.

As standard, the Aston Martin DB9 absorbs bumps adaptively and has further developed shock absorbers with the preselectable modes Normal, Sport and Track. The wheel arches are fitted with 20 inch tires and 245/35 tires at the front and 295/30 at the rear. All of these modifications have one goal: to bring the DB9 closer to the recently introduced top model Vanquish with 573 hp.

The Aston Martin DB9 will be on the market from October

When the Successor appears, not certain yet, butThe large series will have to be kept fairly young for two years. The price seems attractive in any case: Despite a significant increase in performance, the Aston Martin DB9, when it comes to German dealerships in October, will only cost around 2,100 euros more than before. The price hurdle that still has to be overcome is 174,994 euros.
