Attention collectors. According to Jaguar with the XK SS is now jumping on the trend for Aston Martin to rebuild legendary classic cars and distribute them among wealthy customers. At Aston Martin, the choice fell on the D B4 GT from 1959. At the time, it was derived from the DB4, which was victorious in LeMans, as a customer racing model. Up to 1963, 75 of the lightweight version were made, which today are sought-after and highly-paid collector's items. Up to 3.5 million euros are paid for DB4 GT models. Now the British are increasing to 100 models.
New edition only for the racetrack
The new edition should be based exactly on the specifications of the original model. The chassis number of the new lightweight version immediately follows where production ended at the time - at 0202R. However, the new DB4 GT will no longer be roadworthy, but may only be driven on the circuit.
Under the hood of the new DB4 GT, the 346 hp 3.7-liter in-line six-cylinder with double ignition beats again . Shifting takes place via a 4-speed gearbox, the traction is optimized by a limited slip differential on the rear axle. The aluminum body spans again over a tubular space frame. Buyers of the new DB4 GT can also customize their racing car in terms of dimensions. In the production of the new DB4 GT in the former Aston Martin parent plant in Newport Pagnell, modern techniques and a lot of traditional handwork are to flow together for high quality. The first DB4 GT models are to be delivered from the 3rd quarter of 2017. And so that the models can then also be moved accordingly, Aston Martin has developed a two-year program in which DB4 GT buyers can let off steam on various racetracks around the world.
Prices for the new Aston Martin DB4 GT were not named, but prospective buyers can assume at least 1.7 million euros.
