V8 engines from the AMG manufactory have a long tradition. In the early years, the focus was solely on displacement in order to generate more power. Later, a compressor was allowed to breathe additional power into the eight-cylinders. With the 6.2-liter V8, as it is currently still installed in many model series, the back is turned back on charging and relied on free-aspirating engines. With the new 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine, which made its debut in the summer in the still S63 AMG Mercedes S-class , AMG is for the first time using double turbo-charging.
The V8 delivers up to 571 hp and 900 Nm

If you are looking for even more power, you can grab the performance package and get 571 hp and 900 Nm of torque under the hood. The average consumption of the standard variant is supposed to be 10.5 liters per 100 kilometers.
The biturbo gives the new S63 AMG wings -V8 with a sprint time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of regulated 250 km /h. With the performance package even 4.4 seconds and electronically limited 300 km /h should be possible.
