AC Schnitzer in Geneva: Upgrade for BMW 3 Series and BMW M5

I n February the new BMW 3 Series was officially launched the sale, in March tuner AC Schnitzer from Aachen already provides the first update version. The Schnitzer ACS 3 will debut together with the ACS 5 based on the new BMW M5 at the Geneva Motor Show.

Look and performance update for the 3er

The tuner brings the two-liter four-cylinder turbo in the 328i from 245 to 295 hp with an additional control unit. The maximum torque increases from 350 to 410 Nm. This reduces the sprint time from 5.9 to 5.7 seconds. The top speed remains unchanged at a governed 250 km /h. The four-cylinder is visually pimped up with a new engine cover, a sport rear silencer with chrome-plated exhaust trims ensures a sportier sound.

On the chassis side, shorter sport springs and various light alloy rims in dimensions from 18 to 20 inches should ensure more driving dynamics. A maximum of 225/35 tires on the front and 255/30 tires on the rear axle can be mounted on 20 inchers. The components of the aerodynamics package can already be seen at the Geneva Motor Show, but will not be available until summer. These include a new front spoiler, a chrome-plated front grille, a rear roof spoiler, a rear spoiler and a rear apron attachment.

Schnitzer upgrades the interior of the 3 Series with various aluminum trim parts, some with a Black Line look.

The BMW M5 becomes the Schnitzer ACS 5

AC Schnitzer wants the BMW M5 to be even sportier and more dynamic. As the Schnitzer ACS 5, it will have a world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. With a revised engine management system, the biturbo V8 has increased from 560 to 620 hp. The maximum torque increases from 680 to 790 Nm. Like the production model, the Schnitzer-M5 can run a maximum of 305 km /h before the electronics slow it down. The sprint time drops from 4.3 to 4.1 seconds, however. The tuner has also spiced up the look of the engine compartment with newly designed covers. The V8 can roar more prominently with a new sport rear silencer with flap control.

Schnitzer tackles the chassis with 25 millimeter shorter sport springs and alloy wheels in 20 and 21 inch diameters. A maximum of 255/30 and 295/25 tires on 21 inchers can be clamped under the wheel arches.

The aerodynamic kit for the Schnitzer ACS 5 includes a new front spoiler, a rear roof spoiler, aRear spoiler lip and a carbon rear diffuser. A chrome-plated front grille is also used. A large rear spoiler is also available as an option. Schnitzer also enhances the interior of the M5 with numerous aluminum trim parts. Prices for the Schnitzer components for the new 3 Series and M5 have not yet been announced.
