U nd the tuned 2 comes in Aggro-optics and brute power therefore: A huge rear spoiler in carbon look adorns the trunk lid, fat wheel arches are flanked by carbon flaps and red and white, forged, 20-inch five-spoke light alloy rims are covered with 285/25 low-profile tires. Behind it is a brake system with 6-piston fixed calipers and composite brake discs with a diameter of 400 mm - on the hindquarters there are 380 discs with 4-piston brake calipers.

AC Schnitzer installed on the front a modified apron - also with carbon flaps and barred air inlet openings. Ventilation slots in the bonnet, narrow aerodynamic exterior mirrors, optimized rocker panels as well as a sports silencer system with a special catalytic converter, which open into twin exhaust pipes, make the hardcore tuning version of the BMW 235i perfect.

Sportiness continues in the interior.

AC Schnitzer ACL 2 comes with 570 HP

But what is important is: What's under the hood? The three-liter in-line six-cylinder with 326 hp from the production model is not used here; that would be too easy. AC Schnitzer installs a performance-enhanced BMW M4 engine with 570 hp at 6,100 tours and a maximum torque of 740 Nm at 3,500 rpm in the ACL2. The Vmax lock has been lifted so that the ACL2 can spurt to 330 km /h. The 100 km /h mark falls after 3.9 seconds, and 200 km /h is reached after 10.9 seconds. A rear axle locking differential with a locking effect of between 25 and 95 percent should also make dynamic cornering possible, which is also supported by M4 axles and a clubsport chassis that can be adjusted in rebound and compression.

Thanks to lightweight construction materials, the AC Schnitzer, which costs 149,000 euros, weighs only 1,450 kg - however, the hand-built individual item is not for sale. Nonetheless, the concept vehicle only comes in at 2.54 kg /hp. So he plays in the league of a Ferrari 458 Italia with 2.61 kg per PS.

Instead we dare take a look inside. The green paint color can also be found there. The driver and front passenger sit on narrow and light leather sports seats with integrated headrests, rear passengers have to stay outside, the rear bench seat was removed without further ado. But it’s off the front, the driver grabs an AC Schnitzer “EVO” sports steering wheel and operates aluminum-reinforced pedals. The new control display to display z. B. of oil temperature, intake air temperature, boost pressure, etc. and a combination instrument with speedometer up to 330 km /h provide the driver with all information. Floor mats with the AC Schnitzer logo are also on board.

Record on the Nordschleife

What the overall package can do, the Aacheners have now demonstrated on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. Polished by touring car and truck legend Markus Oestreich, the Schnitzer 2 series lapped the green hell in 7: 25.8 minutes. The Schnitzer is said to be the fastest street-legal BMW on the Nordschleife. For the BMW M2 from Munich, the Bavarians themselves give a Nordschleife time of 7:58 minutes.
