T he history of Opel begins in 1862 with the production of Sewing machines, bicycles are added a little later. The car manufacture did not start until 1898, and in 1899 the first car patent application was made - for the invention of the reverse gear in the Lutzmann.

The focus was on developing and producing affordable cars for medium-sized companies, which led to the Opel doctor car . The eight hp model cost 3,950 marks. However, Opel did not start large-scale production with the Opel Olympia until 1935. For this model, instead of the wooden frame, a self-supporting all-steel body was used.

The newer innovations include the Flex7 seating concept and the butterfly doors, which means that Opel is clearly geared towards the needs of families.
