Lexus shows first electric car at a trade fair in China

1 In 997 the first Toyota Prius came onto the market. Since then, the Japanese car manufacturer has been a pioneer of this technology and relies almost entirely on the electrical support of an internal combustion engine in its model range. The nobler subsidiary brand Lexus also offers most of its models as hybrids, in Europe series such as the Lexus ES are only available with the power of two hearts.

Lexus is also getting fully electric models. The Chinese market is the first. In the run-up to the For Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition (November 22 - December 1, 2019), the premium brand has announced the premiere of a new series model with electric drive.

The first teaser reveals nothing more than the new ' Electric “lettering. It is quite possible that the new model is a variant of the compact SUV Lexus UX. It is based on the same platform as the recently electrified Toyota C-HR.
