From the first quarter of 2022, Suzuki will be offering the Vitara SUV as a hybrid with a combination of a 1.5-liter petrol engine and an electric motor. Prices start at 29,150 euros.
So far, the Suzuki Vitara has only been available as a mild hybrid with a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine and an output of 129 hp and a maximum torque of 235 Nm. In the first quarter of 2022, the Japanese will add a full hybrid variant to the drive portfolio of the small SUV.
With front or all-wheel drive
The heart of the new Vitara full hybrid is a 24 kW and 60 Nm electric motor, which not only supports the new 1.5 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with 102 hp and 138 Nm when accelerating, but also the Vitara can also drive alone. The system output is 115 hp. The system is linked to an automated six-speed manual transmission. Suzuki specifies the size of the lithium-ion battery as 0.84 kWh. A purely electric range is also not specified. The Vitara can recuperate when braking and thus recover energy. The hybrid variant can be ordered with either front or all-wheel drive. The top speed is reached at 180 km/h, the consumption is between 4.7 and 6.0 liters.,
The new Suzuki Vitara 1.5 Dualjet Hybrid is offered in the two equipment lines Comfort and Comfort+. Even the Comfort version includes an audio system with a smartphone connection, automatic air conditioning and LED headlights. The standard safety equipment includes the dual-sensor-supported active brake support, the lane departure warning system with steering intervention, drowsiness and traffic sign recognition, a blind spot warning system, a rear traffic assistant and a reversing camera.
The Suzuki Vitara 1.5 Dualjet Hybrid Comfort costs from 29,150 euros. The all-wheel drive variant is offered from 31,000 euros. The Comfort+ equipment variant is available from 31,850 euros. The corresponding four-wheel drive version costs from 33,700 euros.
Suzuki will add a full hybrid variant to the Vitara's drive portfolio from 2022, but is still stingy with detailed information on the drive.
