I In Europe, the range of engines for the new Mercedes GLE is currently limited to the 330 hp GLE 400 d 4Matic, the 272 hp GLE 350 d 4Matic and the 245 hp GLE 300 d 4Matic. The GLE 53 4Matic + is still available from AMG, which with its six-cylinder engine delivers 435 hp.

In the USA, Mercedes is now introducing a new, powerful petrol engine for the series, the GLE 580 4Matic. It relies on the well-known four-liter V8 biturbo engine, which brings 483 hp and 700 Nm of torque to the start. However, the V8 in the GLE 580 is linked to a 48-volt electrical system, which allows the use of an integrated starter generator. It can briefly add another 21 hp and 250 Nm. Mercedes has not yet given any mileage or consumption figures.

In the USA only as a petrol engine

The GLE 580 4Matic is however extensively equipped and includes MBUX, 22-inch wheels, among other things AMG Line exterior package and leather appointments with. In the USA, the GLE 580 4Matic is available for prices starting at $ 76,800.

The GLE is otherwise available on the US market as the GLE 350 4Matic with a four-cylinder two-liter turbo gasoline engine and 255 hp and as the GLE 450 4Matic with a 362 hp in-line six-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with EQ Boost. Diesel cannot be found in the US offer.
