Lexani Cadillac Escalade: Stretch Monster is auctioned

F ür a car that is 5.18 meters long, 2.04 meters wide and 1.89 meters long and has a wheelbase of 2.95 meters can get tight on European roads. Its dimensions should therefore be one of the reasons why the Cadillac Escalade is not widely used in our latitudes. In the USA, on the other hand, it is easier to cope with such dimensions. Even more: there is enough space here to turn a Cadillac Escalade into a super-luxurious stretch limousine.

Almost four meters longer than the original Escalade

That's exactly what it is Lexani Motorcars, a specialist in such conversions, did. The result was a 9.14 meter long SUV monster that will be auctioned off by Mecum Auctions in August as part of the Monterey Car Week. It builds on a 2017 model year Escalade and has moved just 165 miles (266 kilometers) since it was built. The black Cadillac is as good as new, which also means that its standard, 426 hp 6.2-liter V8 engine, coupled to an eight-speed automatic, has hardly been asked for anything.

But the engine, transmission and performance are rather secondary in this car. What counts here is what happens in the interior between the B-pillar and the rear. In the rear, two passengers sit opposite each other and enjoy not only the ingenious ambient light, but also the improved headroom thanks to the raised roof. Or alternatively the on-board entertainment: Between the driver's cab and the passenger compartment there is a 4K curved television that can also be lowered if you want to communicate with the chauffeur; read: must give him instructions.

It is only really luxurious in the rear

This one sitsIncidentally, on boring gray seats in series condition, and everything that looks like wood is just an imitation. The VIP in the rear, on the other hand, have brown, soft leather-covered seats that are electrically adjustable in many ways and equipped with foldable wooden tables and refrigerators. Otherwise, the interior is equipped with imitation wood and a beige Alcantara headliner. Since WiFi is on board, Apple TV can also be received on the television. Several air vents lead to the best climatic conditions in the Cadillac Escalade by Lexani.

But security and privacy are also ensured. Among other things, with a 360-degree camera system that can be used to monitor the area around the car and the heavily tinted windows from the B-pillar. Thanks to the chrome on the wheels, on the radiator grille, around the windows, on the sills and on the roof extension, the Lexani Escalade also makes a very high-quality impression.
