Z Together with the sister model Ioniq from the parent company Hyundai, the Kia Niro is a series designed from the outset for electrified drives. The Koreans' compact SUV model is available as a hybrid, plug-in hybrid and, since this year, also as a fully electric e-Niro. In addition to the range that is suitable for everyday use thanks to a battery of up to 64 kWh, the Kia e-Niro is particularly popular with long delivery times of over a year.

The models with combustion engines that are available more quickly are now available as revised versions to have with facelift and new infotainment equipment. Externally, with the newly designed bumpers, new colors and fresh rim designs, there are only gentle retouches. In addition, Spirit LED headlights replace the previously installed xenon modules in the highest equipment version.

Extended standard equipment

The basic model, which continues to be called Edition 7, is equipped with a eight-inch touchscreen monitor for the audio system instead of the previous TFT display with five-inch diagonal, smartphone integration via Apple Car-Play and Android Auto and a new instrument cluster with a larger digital display.

Kia is raising prices for this . As Editon 7, the Kia Niro Hybrid will cost from 26,990 euros in the future, 1,700 euros more than before. The plug-in hybrid is available for 33,990 euros (+1,240 euros). The revision of the second equipment line, Vision, includes an adaptive cruise control system, environment monitoring with emergency braking and shift paddles on the steering wheel. The prices for the Niro Hybrid rise by 1,200 to 29,790 euros and for the Niro Plug-in Hybrid by 840 to 36,790 euros.

New infotainment with 10.25-inch display

Top model is still the Niro spirit. It has the new UVO Connect infotainment system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and online functions, LED headlights with high-beam assistant and traffic sign recognition as innovations on board. Its prices for the hybrid model rise to 33,790 euros (+2,500 euros) and for the plug-in hybrid to 40,290 euros (+1,870 euros).

The drive technology remains unchanged with the revision of the series. A free-sucking 1.6 liter gasoline engine with 104 kW /141 hp takes over the combustion part. In the Niro Hybrid, it works with a 32 kW (43.5 PS) electric motor that draws power from a 1.56 kWh battery that cannot be externally charged. The Kia Niro comes as a plug-in hybrid with a more powerful 44.5 kW (60.5 PS) electric motor if the 8.9 kWh batteryis fully charged to an electric range of 58 kilometers.
