A combination that is fun. Because the engine in the Ford Kuga grabs a lot even at low revs, hangs well on the gas, turns willingly and on top of that scores with its quiet, low-vibration running. The transmission, which shifts smoothly in automatic mode and when maneuvering, is also agile. When power is required, it activates smaller gears in a flash in the driving report and likes to skip a speed step, which creates a certain hectic pace.
If the gear is switched manually, the sport program is active, which requires a very diligent operation of the selector lever in the driving report. The so-called Powershift transmission is available in the Ford Kuga - like the powerful diesel engine - only with all-wheel drive, but also with the revised, weaker two-liter diesel (now 140 hp).
