The BMW X3 xDrive 30e, which costs 68,550 euros, is ready for a consumption check.
The X3 30e looks comparatively conventional, relies on an unexcited two-liter four-cylinder turbo and a mechanical four-wheel drive via transfer case and cardan shaft to the rear axle. The 80 kW electric motor sits between the converter and the automatic transmission. The driving experience in the 30e is most reminiscent of driving in a conventional combustion engine, or to put it another way: the electrical support is least noticeable in hybrid driving. And even if you're driving in E mode, the input impression of other electric drives is missing. The 184 hp petrol engine, when it is on its own, is powerful, only allowing itself an almost imperceptible turbo break in the speech. And what about the fuel, electricity and maintenance costs? ,
Our test consumption
BMW specifies a WLTP consumption of 2.1 liters Super and 18.9 kWh per 100 kilometers for the X3 xDrive 30e . He moves away from this value in everyday life. We have determined an average consumption of 2.4 liters and 18.4 kWh, which causes costs of 11.54 euros per 100 kilometers. The BMW consumed 6.7 liters on the eco lap, while consuming 9.2 liters on the commuter route. If the BMW was moved in a sporty manner, consumption increased to 11.5 liters. The average consumption hybrid is 9.2 liters. On the purely electric lap, the power consumption was 25.1 kWh. The fuel costs are calculated using the daily updated fuel price on our partner portal tank up more (09/16/2022 / Great: 1.95 euros/liter ). The electricity costs are calculated using the average household electricity price according to the BDEW Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft e.V. (Average electricity price for a household with an annual consumption of 3,500 kWh: 0.3730 euros/kWh . Basic price included proportionately, tariff products and basic supply tariffs incl New customer tariffs included, not volume-weighted). The electricity price at a public charging station is usually higher.
Monthly maintenance costs
If you drive as resource-efficiently as we do on our eco tour, you reduce the costs for 100 kilometers to 13.07 euros. The rather violent gait resulted in a sum of 22.43 euros. The costs in hybrid operation amount to 17.94 euros. Electricity costs of 9.36 euros are incurred on the purely electric route. The vehicle tax is ten euros for the BMW, the liability insurance 528 euros. Partial and fully comprehensive insurance cost an additional 207 and 700 euros respectively. Monthly maintenance costs of 298 euros are paid by those who drive the BMW 15,000 kilometers a year. If the mileage is double, the sum increases to 633 euros. We leave out the loss in value in this calculation.
How to test
The auto motor und sport test consumption for plug-in hybrids is made up of three differently weighted consumption drives driven in hybrid mode. So-called “commuter consumption” accounts for 70 percent. This is a journey from home to work, which averages 21 kilometers (starting with an empty battery). A particularly economical, approx. 275-kilometre-long eco-lap (start with an empty battery) counts for 15 percent. The remaining 15 percent is accounted for by the sports driver lap. The length is roughly the same as the Eco lap, but the route includes a larger proportion of motorway and thus higher speeds on average. An extra is the pure E round. This shows the maximum range in kilometers with a fully charged battery before the combustion engine starts. The consumption is calculated from the measured energy consumption including charging losses. The charging time for a full battery charge and the amount of energy in the battery, including charging losses, are also measured. The basis for calculating the fuel costs is always the price quoted on the "more tanken" portal on the day the article was created.
The monthly maintenance costs include maintenance, wear part costs and vehicle taxes assuming an annual mileage of 15,000 and 30,000 kilometers without loss of value. The calculation is based on the test consumption, a three-year holding period, no-claims class SF12 for liability and comprehensive insurance with Allianz, including discounts for garage parkers and the restriction to certain drivers (not under 21). At Allianz, SF12 offers a discount rate of 34 percent for liability and 28 percent for comprehensive insurance.
Conclusion
In the auto motor und sport test consumption, the BMW X3 xDrive 30e, which costs 68,550 euros and has a system output of 292 hp, ends up with an average value of 2.4 liters Super and 18.4 kWh per 100 kilometers. The combined fuel and electricity costs over this distance are 11.54 euros. The monthly maintenance costs are 298 euros (15,000 km annual mileage) or 633 euros (30,000 km annual mileage).
