"With the best cruising: it's better to take it easy, the drive in the very economical but temperamentally dull hybrid. Extensive assistance, but harsh suspension and high price." In the conclusion of our test editor Sebastian Renz, low consumption values are already an issue. But how do these affect the general maintenance costs of the Toyota Yaris Cross 1.5 VVT-IE Hybrid Elegant?
Our test consumption
Toyota states a WLTP consumption of 5.0 liters per 100 kilometers for its new small hybrid SUV. In everyday life, this becomes 5.8 liters, which puts the fuel costs for this distance at 10.84 euros. Gasoline consumption on the Eco lap falls slightly below the standard consumption: Since only 4.7 liters have to be refilled, only 8.78 euros go over the counter at the gas station. On the other hand, those who are sporty drive consumption to 8.1 liters, which increases fuel costs to 15.14 euros. Monthly maintenance costs
The annual vehicle tax for the Toyota Yaris Cross 1.5 VVT-IE Hybrid Elegant is 66 euros. According to Allianz Direct , liability insurance costs 433 euros in the same period. If you upgrade with partially comprehensive insurance, you pay an extra 100 euros per year. If a fully comprehensive policy is added, an additional 558 euros will be due. The calculation is based on the test consumption, a three-year holding period, no-claims class SF12 for liability and fully comprehensive insurance with Allianz Direct, including discounts for garage parkers and the restriction to certain drivers (accident-free/15,000 km per year/resident in the postcode area 70174/not under 21/partner driver older than 25 years).
Conclusion
The Toyota Yaris Cross 1.5 VVT-IE Hybrid Elegant with 116 hp 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine including hybrid support costs at least 29,990 euros and consumes an average of 5.8 liters, which corresponds to fuel costs of 10.84 euros for 100 kilometers pulls.
