I taldesign and the GT-R both celebrated their 50th birthday . Birthday. On this occasion, the competencies were bundled and the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign was developed, which celebrated its world premiere on July 12, 2018 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The initial question was: How could a Nissan GT- R look when you can work without limits? The answer is provided by the GT-R50, which was developed by Italdesign and is also built there.
Exclusive design with gold elements
At the front, this carries an insert over the entire length Vehicle width, the bonnet got a more powerful power dome and there are new LED light strips on the fenders. The new silhouette is based on a roofline lowered by 54 mm and a stepped roof over the passengers. This should make the GT-R look even more crouched. The air outlets behind the front wheels have also been accentuated with new inserts.

A longer rear window , new round tail lights and a large retractable rear spoiler characterize the redesigned rear. Special 21-inch rims with 255/35 tires at the front and 285/30 at the rear were fitted into the wheel arches. For the first prototype, the total work of art was painted in the special color Liquid Kinetic Gray, which provides a contrast to the gold elements. But of course every buyer can choose their color, so that their car looks particularly individual.
Italdesign has also worked on the interior of the Nissan GT-R. Various new carbon applications were installed, various surfaces are now adorned with black Alcantara or black leather - at least for thePrototypes. In addition, golden elements on the steering wheel and on the dashboard take up the template of the exterior. Nevertheless, the same applies inside: The buyer chooses the colors.
720 PS under the hood
Of course, the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, which is based on the Nismo version of the power Coupés based, also stepping out of line in terms of performance. The handcrafted 3.8-liter V6 biturbo has an output of 720 hp and a maximum torque of 780 Nm. Two larger turbochargers, a new crankshaft, different pistons and connecting rods, modified camshafts as well as an adapted injection system and a new exhaust system all contribute to this. The dual clutch transmission, the differential and the drive shafts have been reinforced accordingly. Specially tuned Bilstein adaptive dampers are supposed to ensure optimized road holding. The brake calipers of the reinforced Brembo brake system are painted red on the prototype.
The price? Over a million euros
The first series copy also has the red stoppers, but is otherwise rather shy in color. Nevertheless, the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign looks great with the deep turquoise and black add-on parts. The special edition also cuts a fine figure on the racetrack. But it should too, after all, the car costs 990,000 euros net - makes 1.18 million euros with German VAT. A maximum of 50 copies should be built.
