A picture was recently made about the' Club Alfa 'from Italy spreads that it should come from an official Alfa presentation. At the time, we didn't know whether the photo with the silhouette of a speaker was a fake or not. In the first comparison with the official representation of Alfa for the GTV, the bead on the side, but also the course of the window band and the strongly flared fenders do not appear to be congruent. The wheelhouses, pulled very far down, also look unusual. It is now clear that the photo does not show the GTV, but comes from a freshman presentation by design students at the University of Milan. The teacher and former Alfa Romeo designer Michele Leonell posted a similar picture on Instagram on March 27, 2019. So we now know for sure that the picture did not show the upcoming GTV.

What we do know, however, is that the two-door, based on an update version of the current Giulia 'Giorgio' platform, will offer space for four people. Even if the rear seats are only designed as jump seats. There is also an all-wheel drive with torque vectoring and a weight distribution of 50:50. A modified version of the 2.9-liter V6 engine with twin turbo, which is already in service in the Giulia and Stelvio, works under the hood. The six-ender should come to 600 hp via e-boost. It positions itself so potent in the competitive environment of the Audi RS5, Mercedes-AMG C63 and BMW M4.

Alfa Romeo GTV is the new top model

The first teaser picture from Alfa shows the line of the GTV with strongly flared fenders, grim-looking headlights and a curved roof line as well as strong contours in the bonnet. The exterior mirrors are on the door rail. Our draftsman built the new Alfa GTV based on this picture. In addition to the strong beading in the doors and the exhibited sills on the side, it also shows a pronounced oneScudetto and powerful cooling air slots in the front apron.

The 'Gran Turismo Veloce' with its 100 more horsepower marks the top model of the Giulia series and of course bears the QV logo on the fenders. It is certainly too early to speculate about the equipment of the Alfa Romeo GTV. Sports steering wheel and seats are, however, set.

Review: Alfa Romeo introduced the GTV 2000 drawn by Giugiaro in 1976 based on an Alfetta platform that was shortened by eleven centimeters. The rear-wheel drive was powered by a two-liter turbo with 150 hp, later after the facelift in 1980, a GTV6 with a 2.5-liter V6 engine and 158 hp was added. These GTV models were discontinued in 1986.

In 1994 Alfa launched another GTV (Code 916), it ran after a facelift until 2005, was based on the Type 2 front-wheel drive platform of the Fiat Tipo and also came as a open Spider version on the market. The sports coupé and the convertible were available in various engines up to the 240 hp 3.2-liter V6. The successor was the Alfa Brera.
