A nthony Jannarelly you don't know? But certainly some of his previous work. The Frenchman drew the Lykan Hypersport and Fenyr Supersport super sports car for W Motors, and he also designed the Zarooq Sand Racer. In 2016, Jannarelly launched his first own car: The Design-1, a simple, lightweight two-seater for the racetrack. The sports car is now also coming to Great Britain, where it will debut at the Salon Privé in the garden of Blenheim Palace in September 2019.

Curb weight of 760 or 810 kilograms

As a partner for technical development Jannarelly Frederic Juillot, who already took on this part in the Zarooq Sand Racer. The technical concept of the Design-1 is simple. An open body made of GRP or, for a surcharge, carbon fiber laminate is placed over a steel tubular space frame. The optional hardtop is always made of carbon. So lightweight construction is the key, which is also expressed in the curb weight of 810 kilograms (760 kilograms with CFRP body).

The two-seater is available in three body styles: as a roadster with a high and low windscreen and as a coupé. As far as the color design of the exterior and interior is concerned, Jannarelly customers can let off steam.

Inside, the Jannarelly Design-1 is reduced to the essentials. The instruments only provide information about the bare minimum. The carbon sports seats are equipped with four-point belts and optionally covered with leather. The 330 millimeter sports steering wheel from Nardi is mounted on a multi-part steering column.

The Design-1 is mostly handcrafted in Dubai. Jannarelly is currently trying to open up new markets for the Design-1. The first deliveries took place in the summer of 2016. At the beginning there was a special edition of 30 copies at around 55,000 dollars each plus tax. The Design-1 is now significantly more expensive. The Paris-based Jannarelly dealer is offering the car for 97,000 including 20 percent VAT. The manufacturer wants to produce a total of 499 copies of the retro sports car.
