I n 40 years, VW has seven generations of the Golf GTI built. Abt Sportsline dragged all seven into its factory halls, refined and tuned them. 'The GTI is part of us,' says boss Hans-Jürgen Abt, whose company is celebrating its 120th birthday this year. Of course, the VW Golf GTI Clubsport is also being pimped in Kempten and the compact sports car is tickling even more power.

340 hp and 430 Nm torque in the Abt GTI Clubsport

265 hp in the production version. In addition to the factory-installed control unit, there is a second in the engine compartment in the Abt version for almost 2,500 euros (+175 euros assembly), which increases the two-liter TSI to up to 340 hp. This means that the Abt Golf GTI Clubsport even surpasses the 310 hp Clubsport S - and it hangs behind the Ford Focus RS with 350 hp. The maximum torque also climbs. Instead of 350 Nm (380 Nm in overboost), 430 Nm tear at the crankshaft. The tuned club sport should master the image sprint on 100 things in 5.6 seconds. That would be 0.7 seconds faster than the production model. The top speed is increased from 250 to 265 km /h.

To match the performance increase, the tuner equips the compact sports car from Wolfsburg with sport stabilizers and a specially developed coilover suspension. The tuner promises higher cornering speeds. A sports brake system on the front axle with six-piston fixed callipers decelerates the Abt GTI Clubsport. The dimensions of the brake discs are 370 x 35 millimeters.

Abt also tastes the GTI Clubsport differently. With a new front spoiler, front grille, rear apron insert, tailgate attachment, new headlight covers, side skirts and mirror caps. In the wheel arches, there are Abt 18 to 20-inch wheels - covered with high-performance tires on request
