Ferrari will add a tightened VS version to the SF90 hybrid sports car from 2023. Now a first Erlkönig has been caught.
It's hard to believe, but the Ferrari SF90 Stradale has been on the hybrid sports car scene since 2019. Accordingly, it will reach the middle of its life cycle in 2023 and thus the time for a refresher. Before that, Ferrari seems to be adding an aggravated version to the SF90 Stradale. Corresponding hardcore versions have a long tradition at Ferrari.,
Fresh aerodynamics and 1,000 hp
The Erlkönig that was caught now operates under the internal abbreviation F173VS, whereby VS clearly signals: A Versione Speciale drives here, i.e. a further improved variant of the Stradale. Judging by the camouflage, the Erlkönig that was caught is still in a very early stage of development. Nevertheless, the areas in which changes are taking place can already be identified. The Italians have obviously upgraded the front of the VS with a different front apron including a larger splitter and a modified front hood with new flow elements. The rear should come with a redesigned spoiler.,
There are also upgrades for the plug-in hybrid powertrain. In the Stradale, the four-liter V8 twin-turbo in conjunction with three electric motors delivers 986 hp. A prestigious 1,000 hp should be targeted for the VS. The Ferrari SF90 VS should be followed by a corresponding variant of the SF90 Spider about six months later.,
Conclusion
Ferrari is adding a Versione Speciale to the SF90 shortly before its major facelift. Above all, it brings with it further optimized aerodynamics and probably 1,000 hp.
