T he new BMW M4 turns as Erlkönig -Coupé and -Cabrio already busy test laps on the Nordschleife. That means nothing else than that it won't be that long before the sporty top model of the 4-series comes onto the market. The time will come sometime in 2020. And for the current M4 of the F82 generation, this means that the end of its career is approaching in giant steps.
Limited to 750 copies worldwide
For M GmbH, it is the perfect opportunity to now offer high-yield special models of the discontinued model. The new M4 Edition M Heritage, which will be unveiled at the upcoming DTM race weekend at the Nürburgring, can be seen in this context. Limited to 750 copies worldwide, the car will be produced between November 2019 and April 2020: with familiar technology, but in exclusive colors and with a unique interior.
It is no coincidence that BMW's Garching-based sports branch chose the Laguna Seca Blue (light), Velvet Blue Metallic (dark) and Imola Red paintwork for the special model: it is the colors that also display the logo presented by M GmbH. They can also be found on the roofs of the sports coupes. However, not just glued on, but laboriously worked into the CFRP fabric. When it comes to the coloring of the 20-inch, forged light-alloy wheels in star-spoke design with mixed tires, the three variants are in agreement: The rounds shine in orbit gray.
Full leather seats and lettering in the interior
Every copy of the BMW M4 Edition M Heritage has fully leather-covered M seats in a two-tone design, thehave openings in the area of the backrests. If the car is blue, the seats are in Silverstone /Black with seams in turquoise or velvet blue and orange. Red coupés have red and black seats with yellow and red contrasting stitching. The carbon applications receive the M-GmbH colors analogous to the roof. There are also lettering on various strips and on the headrests, which indicate the special version and the limitation.
Technically, nothing changes with the edition model. The BMW M4 Edition M Heritage is therefore on the same level as the M4 with the currently standard competition package. The in-line six with twin turbo charging therefore makes 450 hp, the chassis works with electronically controlled dampers, DSC and differential are more sporty and a bit more equipment is also on board.
The BMW M4 Edition M Heritage costs at least 96,700. The base price of the standard M4 is currently 87,000 euros.
