E s was a year of cuts. The biggest: the speed limit on the Nordschleife, which was imposed after the serious accident in the first VLN race of the year, and spilled over to test formats such as the Supertest, because sports cars of the caliber Audi R8 V10 Plus and Porsche 911 GT3 RS from the imposed maximum speeds were affected.
Nobody was faster than the Porsche 911 GT3 RS
In these cases, however, we were able to do a quick lap in the industrial pool. Without a speed limit. From this we were able to calculate a delta time in order to do full justice to the super athletes. This means, for example: Thanks to the calculated factor, the R8 has a time of 7:32 minutes (with a speed limit of 7:36 minutes), for the 500 hp 911 a time of 7:28 minutes (with a speed limit of 7:36 minutes) : 32 min.). No one was faster than the 911 GT3 RS in the 2015 Supertest.
The second big break was internal. Christian Gebhardt took over the helm from Horst von Saurma with the Supertest 5/2015. And the new Supertester burned a fabulous time of 7:42 minutes in the Porsche Cayman GT4 into the asphalt. For comparison: the official Porsche factory time on the Nordschleife is 7:40 minutes.
Great variety in the super test
In 2015, a total of 12 athletes presented themselves in the sport auto super test.
