B Already in the summer of 2018, Aston Martin launched the new DBS Superleggera as the successor to the Vanquish. For the summer of 2019, the British are now pushing the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera again as a convertible in the Volante version.
With 725 hp to 340 km /h
As with the coupé the Aston Martin technicians also used the aluminum chassis of the DB11 for the DBS Superleggera Volante. The 5.2 liter V12 biturbo engine, which provides 725 hp and 900 Nm in the Volante, is also taken over. This should enable the open Aston Martin to spurt from zero to 100 km /h in 3.6 seconds, with a maximum speed of 340 km /h. The standard consumption of the open 2 + 2-seater is 14 liters. Like the Coupé, the Volante uses a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission that transfers the drive mechanism to the rear wheels.
The sportily tuned chassis relies on adaptive dampers and 21-inch rims, which are equipped with 265/35 tires at the front. At the rear, 305/30 rollers maintain contact with the road. Braking power in the dry convertible weighing just under 1.9 tons is provided by a carbon-ceramic brake system with 410 discs at the front and 360 discs on the rear axle.
Body made of carbon
They are also made of carbon All body components, the convertible top, which is available in eight different colors, is of course again covered with fabric and a glass rear window. The carbon fiber laminate structure is optionally visible on the windshield frame and the convertible top compartment lid. Additional features include LED headlights and LED taillights, sports seats with memory function and heating, and a large infotainment package. All aerodynamic aids are also taken over from the Coupé, so the Volante should achieve almost the same downforce as the Coupé.
In addition, the new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante is available at prices from 295,500 euros. To be deliveredthe first Volante models from the third quarter of 2019.
