N after four years of construction, the Skoda Fabia received a gentle facelift in late summer 2018. After all, the Fabia has to stay up-to-date for a few years before it is replaced by the MQB-based Fabia IV. A new front with LED headlights gives the Skoda Fabia a more expressive appearance. For the first time, LED rear lights will also be available for this model. The range of light alloy wheels has also been expanded and now extends up to 18-inch dimensions. The interior has a new instrument cluster, new decorative strips for the dashboard and two-tone surfaces for the seats.

Skoda
With 110 HP the Fabia is very well motorized.

If you are not one of those extraordinary shift lazy, you can you actually give yourself the surcharge (1,160 euros) for the dual clutch transmission, the manual gearbox delights with short distances and a crisp shift feel. They have already managed to clean it up in Mlada Bolesaw. The small three-cylinder turbo is also little cause for grumbling. With 110 hp, the Fabia is very well motorized, although you have to use the manual gearbox more often than you might expect in order to move forward quickly. The engine hums a bit more audibly than you know it from the larger MQB models, but that's not annoying. So that fits, and so does the average consumption of around six liters signaled by the on-board computer.

There is some time left to turn to the assistance systems. Here, too, the Fabia has grown and now offers, in addition to the systems previously available, a lane change assistant, high beam assist and Rear Traffic Alert low. Also on board, of course: an impressive number of the brand-typical Simply Clever solutions from the umbrella under the passenger seat to the LED light in the trunk.

The balanced suspension comfort is also no less typical of the brand. On Bohemian country roads that are not always perfectly flat, the Fabia chassis was harmonious, a little tight, but very pleasantly appealing. The small Skoda will cost from 13,490 euros, the test car with the 110 hp engine and the style equipment is in the list from 18,950 euros.
