Mazda 2: facelift for the small car

Mazda has given the Mazda 2 a facelift. It made its debut in the home market in January 2023 with a fresh look. Now it is coming to Europe.

New aprons on the front and rear

At the rear, the apron differs only slightly from its predecessor. Small areas can also be painted in a contrasting color that differs from the base coat. The available color palette has also been expanded. The two paint finishes Aero Gray and Air Stream Blue are new to the range. In Japan, various design variants complement the range.

More color in the cockpit

In the interior, the sports models rely on black surfaces with red contrasting stitching. There are new surface materials and colors for all other models.

The Mazda 2 drive range remains unchanged for the 2023 model year. The 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine is still available in three performance levels with 75, 95 and 115 hp. The two more powerful engines with manual transmission are coupled with a mild hybrid system as standard.

In addition to the regular variants Prime-Line, Center-Line and Exclusive-Line, the Mazda 2 2023 is available in the sporty special editions Homura and - new to the range - Homura Aka. This is based on the highest equipment line, Exclusive Line, and includes a black-painted roof, diamond-cut alloy wheels, fabric/leather seats with red stitching, and applications on the door panels and dashboard.

The refreshed Mazda 2 is available from 15,590 euros for the 75 hp version. The 90 hp petrol engine moves in from 18,390 euros under the hood. At least 22,990 euros are required for 115 hp.

The German branch is planning the first deliveries of the new Mazda 2 from April/May 2023.
