Daihatsu Copen Coupé: For Japan also with a fixed roof

Daihatsu Copen Coupé
Subscriptions & booklets

The Copen from D aihatsu is only known in this country as a convertible with a foldable hardtop. Since the Toyota subsidiary withdrew from Europe at the end of January 2013, the Copen convertible has also been seen less and less on our streets.

In Japan, the Copen is still on sale and for 2019 the small car will also be available as a coupé. The Japanese announced for the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2019. The edition of the closed two-seater is limited to 200 copies. Deliveries are scheduled to start in April 2019.

Coupé roof made of carbon fiber laminate

The coupé is of course based on the convertible. Its foldable hardtop is replaced by a fixed roof made of carbon fiber laminate. Optionally, the roof can also be equipped with an opening glass rear window, which serves as access to the luggage compartment.

In addition, the coupé is equipped with a limited-slip differential on the driven front axle as standard. The 660 cm³ turbo three-cylinder with 64 hp and the CVT transmission remain unchanged. Leather seats are also part of the special equipment of the Copen Coupé , a Momo sports steering wheel, BBS alloy wheels, a sports rear silencer and a sports suspension. There is a sticker on the center console that documents the serial number.
