V on summer slump can be in the VLN be out of the question. For the 38th RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen, the crème de la crème of endurance sports will be guests on the Nordschleife. With eleven starters, the SP9 class has recovered from its interim low and offers the spectators a colorful mix of contenders for victory. Then there are the two exotic cars from the SP-X class, who both celebrated on the podium in the last run. The Ford GT from Jürgen Alzen Motorsport took the win, the Lexus from Farnbacher Racing came in second.

Renauer celebrates Ford premiere

In this edition, too, you have to put the two on the bill to have. However, the driver line-up has changed each time. Instead of Uwe Alzen, Robert Renauer and Dominik Schwager take the steering wheel of the Ford. This is a first for Renauer. Farnbacher got support from Japanese Akira Iida, as Mario Farnbacher is doing his duties in the Tudor Sportscar Championship in the USA this weekend.

Fan favorite Uwe Alzen will stay with the VLN anyway. Instead of the Ford, he drives the Haribo-Mercedes-SLS together with Marco Holzer and Mike Stursberg after a long break. Regulars Phoenix Racing (Audi), Rowe (Mercedes), Frikadelli (Porsche) and Walkenhorst (BMW) are also back at the start. At Phoenix, Niki Meyr-Melnhof supports the well-rehearsed driver duo Frank Stippler and Christian Mamerow, at Rowe there are only two people with Klaus Graf and Christian Hohenadel.

Falken with Nordschleife test

Adam Christodoulou, Andreas Simonsen and Hubert Haupt in the Mercedes-SLS from Black Falcon also belong to the strong line-up of drivers. Falken Motorsport also wants to have a say in the winning Porsche 911 GT3 R with Martin Ragginger and Alexandre Imperatori. On Monday (17.8.) Before the race, the team was busy collecting test kilometers on the Nordschleife during a test with the successor model. The Busch twins are back in their Audi R8 together with Nordschleife professional Marc Basseng, who last won the ADAC GT Masters last weekend.

In addition, one should not underestimate the SP7 class . Once again, professionals like Richard Lietz, Michael Christensen, Christian Menzel, Marc Hennerici, Marco Seefried and Norbert Siedler can be found here.
