L are the DTM managers behind the scenes worked on a new season schedule. In contrast to other series, where races are repeatedly canceled or postponed, the organizers of the highest German touring car league have decided against the salami tactics.

The ITR umbrella organization announced exactly one month before the planned start of the season that the first five races at Zolder, the Lausitzring, St. Petersburg, Anderstorp and Monza will not take place on the original date. With this, the entire first half of the season was postponed in one fell swoop.

New season finale in Monza

The classic at the Norisring starts in the new calendar. The city race forms on 11/12. July the new season opener. Then the races on the new Igora Drive in St. Petersburg or in Anderstorp could continue on the first weekend in August - depending on where the corona virus is more likely to allow a race. A second alternative date will be available on the first weekend in October for the race that does not come to fruition.
